Early Excellence Outdoor Play Resources

Water play is an essential element of continuous provision outdoors. Offered on a daily basis it encourages children to use the space and freedom to explore and investigate this natural material on a grand scale.

Our Water Play Collection offers a wide range of open-ended resources suitable for use by children 2-5 years outdoors. The resources have been carefully selected to stimulate and engage children’s exploratory and imaginative play.

This set of resources for exploring the flow of water includes a selection of high quality guttering, tubing, pipes and plant pots of different sizes.

It also includes sweeping brushes which enable children to stop or alter the flow of water as it moves along the ground. The set comes complete with the storage container as shown.

This set includes a wide range of containers for collecting, filling, pouring, emptying and transporting water. All the resources have been selected for their quality, graduated size and differing shapes.

The hose is included to provide a readily available source of water outdoors and the carriers, with easy to use taps, enable children to fill their own containers.

This set, stored in a strong carryall, includes a range of graduated brushes for ‘painting’ water onto surfaces and scrubbing brushes to support children's interest in cleaning.

This set, stored in a strong carryall, supports children’s play as they wash clothes and peg them out. The pegs can also be used with our Den Collection to attach fabric covers.

In addition, suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment should be completed to take into account the environment and the differing skill and capabilities of the children and staff.
