Early Excellence Outdoor Play Resources

Building and Construction is a keen interest of young children that can be developed on a large scale outdoors. Stimulating and challenging materials which enable children to build for a variety of purposes, both real and imaginative, are an essential part of daily provision.

Our Building and Constructing Collection offers a wide range of open-ended resources that children can use creatively as part of their play. It includes a set of high-quality crates and additional materials that will inspire and extend children’s ideas.

Our crates and trays have been sourced for Early Excellence and are made from strong, durable materials in attractive, earthy tones.

The set includes a variety of play crates which will inspire children's imagination and creativity. Children will enjoy using the crates for a range of purposes, having the ideal resource to build enclosures, dens and other structures with a variety of form and function.

Our additional materials have been developed using high quality resources produced for Early Excellence by small local companies. The collection includes a set of wooden planks, strong card tubes, carpet squares and a set of natural ropes. The child-sized sack cart is included to connect with children’s natural desire to transport crates and other objects around.

Written guidance to support the use of the resources in practice has been compiled by our curriculum advisers and can be purchased when ordering these resources. BCL - £8.75

Quality Promise: Most of the resources included in our Building and Constructing Collection are produced especially for Early Excellence and cannot be easily replaced by alternatives. Should any of the resources be out of stock, we will contact you and fulfil your order as soon as they become available.

Safeguarding and Managing Risk: Please note that these resources must be monitored regularly and children should be appropriately supervised and managed. In addition, suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment should be completed to take into account the environment and the differing skill and capabilities of the children and staff.
